i'm a born buddhist by default.Only pray on occasions like CNY or duan wu jie,etc...nad durin exam seasons,(ling shi bao fuo jiao)....hee...If given a choice, would i believe in Buddhism?(still cant really distinguish btwn taoism and buddhism )...i'm not a VEGETARIAN and dun tink i can eva be one...i'm carnivorous loh.AND i eat beef!hmmm,i guess i'm still,or rather, i'd choose to be a free-thinker at heart.Ceremonies are mere rituals,they dun depict who u're or what u truly blif in.i dun exactly go for sutra studies or carry scriptures ard,let alone a buddhist beads bracelet on my hand.Those really sincere buddhists will frequent temples n monasteries regularly and attend chantings or some other religious ceremonies.Reminds me of Candy...alwayz go 'fuo tang'...dedicating much of her time there...I juz went for a tea session by Buddhist Society,dragged by 'UNCLE' toilet wilsanto...haha...beneath tt not-serious-at-all face,lies a compassionate Wilsanto Jony,a very diff. guy i noe atFOW.Seeing him in cheering, in all the ra-ra occasions juz mks it HARD to even associate him wif Buddhism.bUT hearing him present his philosophies in Buddha and the way he recommended some scriptures n teachings of buddha to me changed my impression of him.Maybe each invd. has a 'spiritual' side seldom revealed,only when u're at peace w urself,can u realise wat u wana in life.
din noe tt Buddhists sing hymns too..had this misconception tt all they do this chanting and more chanting...or meditation.Well,their hymns sound almost like any Christian praise-thy-god church songs.Or maybe,the distinctness cant be pinpointed by a commoner like me.
actually, i'm fine w religions.But,strangely,i found tt i still have some resistance twds REALLY believing in ONE religion, or any, for the matter.i'm my own GOD...haha...praying juz places a security blanket ard me,to make me comforted...more at ease,tatz all,or at best,brgs harmony and gd health to my family.I still blif in striving for my own goals n dictating my personal life.I dun blif in ppl praying for TOTO 4D numbers,hoping they'll strike it rich juz via sitting at kopitiams,looking at 4D 'babiboos' leaflets.Get real!
all said, i guess i'll still prefer to join harmonica band.Religious commitments arent my cuppa of tea...coz i'll end up more hallucinated than enlightened at the end of the day.Maybe i'll pick up Achaan Chan's "A still forest pool" (given by toilet Wilsanto..haha..) when i'm free?aiyoh,still found it hard to blif he's from Dharma circle...
