I’ve been to Airports 4 umpteen times – mostly to see ppl off. Senai Airport is my frequent playgrd to idle when picking or sending my dad off to Sabah. Similarly, farewell of friends at Changi Airport became a common cause for friends’ gathering. Be it for education or migration purposes, I send each treasured friend off with my warmest blessings. My sincere apologies for not being able to make it for some of your departures or arrivals. Paiseh paiseh hor. But I’m still very amused by how someone...haha...(An OUCH in advance! I know I’m asking for a beating!!) can actually fly off, leaving her frens frantically calling for her thru’ PA system...panic-stricken as to what happened to her and ended up she has already boarded the plane and we din get to see her in person...classic tale of the century! Who’ll ever 4get?
This time round I’m flying abroad with my entire family for vacation. The feeling is totally different when u’re flying alone or flying for other purposes. It’s a carefree relaxation, freed from the customary solemn and gloomy ambiance when u send someone dear off. Parting is such sweet sorrow, only if u expect a reunion. But again, it’s one of those times u try to make tears disappear, knowing that this parting may be 4eva but u’re still letting him/her go, knowing that many situations may change with the ending of this embrace. My valuable lesson learnt: As circumstances change; people change.
Strangely, a morbid thought flashed across my mind, even if I were to die that very moment, I’ll be with my dearest family. Ok, Choy, it might sound absurd but isn’t it a blessing that u get to embrace all ur loved ones when u leave this world? When one’s up in the air or out at sea, one’s faith is indeed left in the arms of God. Having that flickering thought, I instinctively prayed for our safety.
On board the 3 hr flight, my mind started to make plans for my Graduation tour... and even more far-fetched, my honeymoon...(Alrite...All gals fantasize, so let them be.)
Thought I’d be excited once I touched down at HKIA, but well, guess I was exhausted from the bumpy flight.(The weather was slightly rough) It was just a foreign place. Not the Changi Airport or Senai Airport landscapes that detained elements of my memories.
