Floating almost limbless, facing the clear blue skies. Submerging in the rippling waters. Cool as cucumber. Time can tick away on the clock for all I care. I can bubble away in my own world w/o worrying abt what’s next on my daily planner. Enjoying the breeze, this is indeed ultimate relaxation and self-indulgence. I have the entire pool to myself and no disturbing interruptions. Serenity!
Swimming is a test of endurance just like jogging long distance. Stamina builds up as u continue on a long term basis but the determination is the foundation for any desired stamina. It resembles my attitude twds life. I dislike giving up, unless I’m really forced by extenuating circumstances. I avoid doing things midway or half-heartedly. Swimming the laps, I was reminded of how many a times thoughts of giving up my piano learning during JC days nearly overthrew my then weak persistence. ( Suddenly recalls Wei Cheng’s spiderman printout on his file.Laughters!)
I’m proud to see that I hang on, though with lotza struggling back then. That’s why my ABRSM Grade 8 Piano certificate is one of my most treasured certificates. Place it beside my I.C., I’d still dive for my ABRSM cert. in a fire b4 running for my life. Simply coz it’s the fruit I’ve toiled for. I.C is replaceable, albeit after many tedious inconveniences. Plus, I.C is issued by default. Sth i dunid to work for.
A grey bird soared high above in the distant horizon. Skated across the pool and rested temporarily on the surface of the water. Thoughts interrupted. I continued my aimless floating and drifting. Wonderful.
