Huike got her rejection letter and asked me about my application status. (So have many other applicants) Huike- an intelligent USP Physics major, who’s dying to teach. I truly admire her for her courage and perseverance. I was sharing with her how upset I got. And I cldnt believe it when she told me this was her 3rd time trying for this award. It’s always the interview that cost her last straw. She’s numbed by the repeated attempts, but she’s still very encouraging, even tho’ we might be ‘competitors for this same race’.
Sigh, even USP scholar received rejection letter twice, when will I receive mine? With Malaysia snail mail, a week’s delay is not a surprise. Each time I heard the postman’s motorbike, I’ll rush to the mailbox, eager to see if it’s the sacred notification. But, I sulk once there’re none.
