Some frens are quite surprised as to why i seem to know pple from all over campus. Why I help Sheares for RAG, and not Kent Ridge. How I got to know pple from Kuok Foundation when im not even staying there.Aiyoh, humans are mobile.Stay rooted and whine abt ur misery all day long,see where u will be heading lor.Maureen is my couzies fren at IMU(Intl Medical Univ. in KL for the inital few mths b4 she matriculated in NUS Life Sci). Somehow, my couz mentioned her name and asked me to keep a look out for her. And, situationally,we became fella NUH volunteers at the SAME TUE children ward! Tatz how i gotta know this young promising lady.And we further surprised each othr when she sat beside me at the Teachers Induction Course at MOE auditorium.We really share similar interestSSS and passion to help!!! (plus we are such complementatry crappers...hahaha)
Nway, she is currently a R.A(wat r u guyz thinking of?!!Its the acronymn for Resident Assistant.) at Kuok Foundation.Hmm, didnt know her bf is a R.A there as well.Juz got to see him once when he went to our Teaching Scholarship Presentation Ceremony.Nice frenly chap from medic.No nose high up in the air despite from Medic.
Discussed quite some issues rgrdg human affairs and admin as R.A. Free accomodation for the sem... hmmm, but im trying to see if it is worth the time devoted to running of errands, and planning of org. events.According to peers [in this line],it can be quite a saikang job. For instance,even when pple get locked out of rooms while u're admist lects in some far away LTs,u gotta rush back to attend to them. First aid NIGHTingale too, if anyone suffers an accident in wee hours of the morn and u gotta accompany him to NUH.If no one clears the pantry, get ready the broom.blah blah... Well, simply put, nth is FREE.
But still, the optimiist in me dun mind the gatherings and suppers.Why must residences be a suffocating place whr residents get cooped up behind shut doors or remain silent strangers in lifts? I blif non-hall-hostelites can also plan and org. events ourselves and have a fair share of fun too!It is whether YOU are open to interaction with ur neighbours. My stay in Ridge View Residence is much more carefree than in KR(haha,i dun have to put up w disgusting neighbour exposing disturbing nudity,eeks!) and fulfilling, doing the activities i have passion in BUT may not have a chance in hall.(ie. Harmonica Band).Well,I am considered quite a lucky one. Having stayed in hall, PGP, and now E.A, i had a taste of each demonination. I wld say residence life can be as fun and enriching as hall life if u know how to dig at opportunities to participate and make time to mingle ard w pple. A lil' offer to collect laundry or some helpful acts to refill water downstairs in the lounge will tie frenships gradually. Even if pple arent receptive of my offer,i will juz trt it as a volunteer task,w nth to lose.
The Long and the short, Ok, can consider la.Contemplating to apply for R.A if i go for honours. Well,a possibility if i still wish to stay on campus.AND, IF AND ONLY IF... i manage to do honours.
