It wasnt the pain of the injection itself.More of that b.i.t.c.h who was so rude in her service. Damn attitude to give a bare minimal description. Her words totally stink!
In preparation of my China Immersion Programme in 14th May to 4th June, the chem dept admin reminded us to immunize ourselves against Bird Flu, Thyphoid and Hep. A.
Out of these,I opted out for Hep A, since the 2 boosters are 6mths apart. Despite their costly SGD80 per booster, they might not be guranteed their effectiveness. Ok, so at 9am,off i went for my vacinations at YIH medical ctr.
Luckily, it was not too long a queue, for i was rushing off to a test at 10am.Inside the consultation room, i CLEARLY told the Doc. that i was going to China AND that I wanted a vacination against the BIRD FLU disease so rampant nowadays.She merely muttered a silent "OK, pay at the counter" and scribbled 2 names of jabs to be performed by a nurse. It seemed as if she wanted to chase me out of her room asap. (Maybe s/o offended her early in the morn?)It was only after my eager questioning of whatever post-injection-side-effects, that she coldly said:" Just take some paracetamol to relieve the anticiapted fever."
Without bothering her, I headed for the counter to pay my bill.
"Gal, write your name in this FLU injection record book." the nurse was warm and friendly in contrast to the icy Doc. "Relax, it is only a common flu jab. Nth to be scared about." she smiled at my silly nervousness.
"WHAT!!??!Common Flu jab??!! Wasnt it supposed to be a BIRD FLU prevention jab?!?!?" an innocent 21 yr old was instantaneously concerned.
" There is no prevention or vacination against Bird Flu."... I suddenly felt cheated.
And a digustingly revolting voice shreeked the silence." So you would rather listen to THAT nurse than to that doctor?" If I were her poor colleague, I could have died a hundred times than to be humilated by a colleague who is not fit to criticise!
She is implying that we patients should disregard the advice of a nurse? Dear was rite. Doctors can advice us, but WE, as the patients, should have the right to choose!Consumers' Rights ok!!!
